Our Story

Wayward Stitch started in 2012 on the principle that you can have beautiful, unique, and sturdy handbags and accessories made only from soft, durable, high-quality, animal friendly materials.  In 2018, we decided to expand our collection to become Wayward Fiberhouse.  Our new collection includes our beloved handbags and accessories, as well as goods for the home, restored and reupholstered vintage furniture, and unique altered vintage clothing.  We take pride in purchasing several recycled materials used in our construction, and in turn, recycle a large part of ours.  Very few waste goes into the landfill on our watch.  Several of our products are original, or produced in small batches.  Most items are easy to clean, water resistant, and constructed using a variety of eclectic textiles.  Each piece we create is designed to go with everything you love to wear or fill your favorite spaces with.  We like to think our style and way of doing things is unique, yet practical.

We are experienced in several sewing techniques and provide you with the highest quality of craftsmanship. Our color and texture combinations have been inspired by our love and advocacy of animal welfare, as well as the colorful people and places encountered while exploring our world.  Our pieces were designed to turn heads, just like you!

All of our products are handmade with love in the longleaf pines of North Carolina. Based in Raleigh, we take great pride in having all of our products produced in our hometown.
